37 Suspected Aliens Found in Car, Trailer
Nearly 40 suspected illegal aliens were discovered Friday riding in a covered U-Haul trailer and in the car pulling the load after it crashed into a freeway center divider in Pomona, authorities said.
No injuries were reported after the 11 a.m. accident on the westbound San Bernardino Freeway near the Dudley Street exit, California Highway Patrol Officer Monty Keiffer said.
U.S. Border Patrol agents took 37 aliens into custody after they were discovered in the car and trailer.
Earlier, a Claremont police detective spotted the car moving erratically near the Vineyard Street exit. Shortly after a patrol unit was dispatched to track it down, the vehicle crashed into the divider, Claremont Police Lt. Ted Whitall said.
