Lack of Space Halts Burrito at 312 Feet
For a while, it appeared the burrito building would never stop, but finally the makers ran out of tables and space and the project ended with a 312-foot-long concoction constructed of 312 tortillas loaded with 50 pounds of frijoles spread over 33 tables at Juniper Park in Fontana.
The burrito chefs, the Fontana Youth Assn., said it was a world record, but the Guinness Book of World Records lists no burrito category. So the group had a bevy of city officials attest to the size and will send an entry off to the Guinness people.
The association said the burrito was sold for 50 cents a slice.
The original goal was 172 feet, since someone had heard there was an unofficial record of 162 feet, but “the kids just got carried away,” an official said.
