It may be several days before investigators determine whether the death of a woman found in the Florence area is connected to the killer responsible for the deaths of 16 prostitutes since 1983. “It’s going to be a couple of days before we know anything,” Los Angeles Police Lt. John Zorn said. Zorn, who heads a task force of police officers and sheriff’s deputies investigating the killings attributed to the so-called “Southside Slayer,” said the victim must be identified, then checked for a police record of prostitution. The woman’s nude body, which appeared to have been strangled, was found near a dumpster at 58th Street and Central Avenue.
