UCLA Dean to Be Feted
The UCLA Medical Center Auxiliary will honor Dr. Sherman M. Mellinkoff, retiring dean of the UCLA School of Medicine, at its annual spring meeting and luncheon at the Faculty Center at 11 a.m. on May 21.
Testimonials will be presented by Dr. Kenneth I. Shine, who will succeed Mellinkoff as dean, and Mellinkoff’s brothers, David, a professor of law at UCLA, and Abe, editor of the San Francisco Chronicle. Dr. Douglas Scutchfield, director of the Graduate School of Public Health at San Diego State University, will represent the American Medical Assn.
