Huntington Beach Volleyball Team Wins Twice to Advance to Finals at National Tournament
SBE/Raymond Construction of Huntington Beach won two first-round matches Tuesday and will be one of 16 teams to advance to the championship rounds of the U.S. Volleyball Assn. National Championships at Wichita, Kan.
The Huntington Beach team defeated the Midwest Volleyball Club of Ohio, 15-2, 15-7, and the Panagea Club of Northern California, 15-6, 15-7, Tuesday. Middle blocker Tom Pestolesi, volleyball coach at Estancia High School, had 26 kills.
