J-Town
As a third generation Japanese-American, born and raised in Los Angeles, I remember with great fondness the Saturday bus trips with my grandmother to “J-Town.” Over the years I have watched as the developers have eaten away at the Little Tokyo I so vividly remember, replacing the old storefronts with high rises and hotels.
To lose what little we have left of the heart of the Japanese-American community would be not only a loss to us, but also to all who view Los Angeles as their home.
