SOS Chief Adds Title at TransTechnology
TransTechnology announced that Salvatore J. Mira, 45, the president of its Space Ordnance Systems division in the Santa Clarita Valley, has been given the additional title of TransTechnology vice president.
TransTechnology, a Sherman Oaks-based aerospace and defense company, named Mira president of the Space Ordnance division, effective March 31. The company traditionally has given corporate vice president titles to its five divisional presidents.
Before joining TransTechnology, Mira was president of Diversified Consultants in Tucson. He also has been an executive with such aerospace firms as Gates Learjet and Swearingen Aviation.
The previous president of Space Ordnance Systems, Joseph Cabaret, now TransTechnology’s vice president of corporate planning, pleaded no contest last month in Los Angeles Municipal Court to misdemeanor charges of illegally storing hazardous waste. He is scheduled to be sentenced May 29.
Separately, TransTechnology said the Lundy Technical Center in Pompano Beach, Fla., which it is to acquire as part of its planned $37-million purchase of Lundy Electronics & Systems, will be included in the Space Ordnance division under Mira. The Lundy center makes aluminum-coated glass fibers that produce false radar images when released from an aircraft. Space Ordnance makes flares that are shot from planes to divert heat-seeking missiles.
A TransTechnology spokeswoman said the Lundy acquisition is expected to be completed in 30 days.
