Jean Simmons in Alcohol Center
From Associated Press
Actress Jean Simmons is undergoing treatment for alcoholism at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage and expects to be released next week, her manager said today.
“She’s been there five weeks. She gets out June 4,” said Geoffrey Barr, the actress’ personal manager for the last 10 years. “She’s doing great, fabulous. It’s the greatest experience of her life.” Barr said Simmons, 57, decided on her own to seek treatment at the center for “what people usually go there for. It’s alcoholism.”
