Re your editorial (June 4), “Clearing Away the Fog”: In 1948 as young newlyweds from the East, we rented from an elderly native Californian couple. When I griped about gloomy May days, Rose gave me an old California weather report--it’s held true for 38 years:
May days are gray days
In June it’s foggy till noon
In July get ready to fry
