CVS drugstores will drop adult magazines.

CVS, the last major drug store chain in the nation still selling adult magazines, said it will stop carrying Playboy, Playgirl, Penthouse and Forum at the end of this month. A spokesman for the company, based in Woonsocket, R.I., said the firm was not influenced by a federal commission on pornography, which had threatened to publish the names of stores distributing such material. The threat recently was blocked by a federal judge.
