Dow Chemical reported a second-quarter profit of $222 million, up 43% from a year earlier. Midland, Mich.-based Dow, the nation’s No. 2 chemical company, cited its business in the United States, Brazil and the Pacific region as particularly strong during the period and said profits were above last year for every business segment in the three months ended June 30.
