The Italian cruise liner Achille Lauro will carry American passengers for the first time since Palestinian terrorists hijacked the ship last October and killed American passenger Leon Klinghoffer, officials of the line said. About 30 students from high schools in Glendale, Calif., will be among 800 passengers leaving Genoa this week on a 10-day cruise to Spain, Portugal and Morocco. A number of Americans also have reserved cabins for the 1987 America’s Cup competition off Australia.
