Talks to avert a strike that could delay the start of the fall television season continued today after a deadline for concluding the negotiations was extended until 5 p.m. today.

At 12:40 a.m., a spokesman for the Screen Actors Guild said there has been “enough movement” to hold another day of talks. Representatives of the SAG and Federation of Television and Radio Artists earlier had set a target deadline of midnight Wednesday for ending talks on a new three-year contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
