Pitcher Nolan Ryan of the Houston Astros was placed on the 15-day disabled list again because of a sore right elbow, retroactive to July 28.
Ryan, 39, was on the disabled list from June 1 to June 24 because of a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right elbow.
Ryan is 7-7 with a 3.89 earned-run average and 126 strikeouts in 115 innings.
