Look at What Lasorda Has Had to Put Up With
If the Dodgers end up contending for the NL West title in September, which I think they will, then Tommy Lasorda will have been the man primarily responsible for getting them in that position.
I’ve always liked Lasorda, even when I’ve disagreed with some of his decisions. The guy has got moxie. Just look at what the man has had to put up with so far this year: A lineup decimated by injuries, a bullpen which up until a week or so ago could only be labeled as dismal and a defense which only Vincent Price could love.
Yet, the Dodgers seem like they are ready to make a move. Whether they do or not remains to be seen, but without Lasorda the Dodgers’ life support system would have been yanked out of the wall a long time ago.
