An investor group wants to sell its stake in Stater.
The group, which is led by Stater Bros. director Bernard R. Garrett, said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it has held talks with third parties, including investment bankers, to sell its 42% stake in the Colton grocery store chain. The group was defeated in a recent struggle for control of Stater Bros. The group said that several parties have expressed interest in the stock but that no agreement has been reached.
