Police have arrested two adults and a juvenile in connection with the July 31 slaying of a man whose killers allegedly lured him out of his home by activating a burglar alarm on his car, police said Friday.

Police spokeswoman Maureen Thomas said the three suspects were arrested over the past three days at separate Santa Ana residences. She said Marlon Devon Gray, 19, was arrested Tuesday, and Rogelio Monjaras, 19, Wednesday at their homes.

The third suspect, a 17-year-old juvenile, was arrested late Thursday, she said.

The three are accused of the July 31 killing of Long Thanh Nguyen, 29, outside his home at 1229 E. Wilshire St.

According to police reports, on July 25 the silent alarm on Nguyen’s car went off. Nguyen, armed with a .25-caliber handgun, came out of his house and found Monjaras and the juvenile in his carport. Police said Nguyen fired three shots in the air and chased away the two suspects.

On July 31, the two initial suspects allegedly returned with Gray to Nguyen’s residence armed with a .38 caliber handgun and a .22 caliber rifle. While two of the suspects hid behind a wall, the other shook Nguyen’s car to activate the alarm, Thomas said.

When Nguyen came out of his house, again armed with his handgun, the suspects opened fire on him. He was fatally wounded once in the chest, police said.
