The Navy, almost a year after the policy change was announced, said it had begun limiting ship deployments to six months. The aircraft carrier John F. Kennedy and nine escorts will depart their East Coast home ports next Monday bound for the Mediterranean, where they will relieve the carrier America and 10 escorts. That would ensure that the America battle group can return home by Sept. 10, the Navy said.
