Kansas City Royals Manager Dick Howser, who is battling a malignant brain tumor, says his case will be evaluated following three more days of radiation treatment next week.
Howser sat in the Royals’ dugout in Kansas City and talked with reporters for about 15 minutes before Friday’s game against the New York Yankees.
“Whatever it takes to get it done, we’re going to do it,” said Howser, who underwent surgery July 22 to partially remove a brain tumor. “We can do it.”
Howser said he has received cards and letters from Japan, Europe and all over the United States. General Manager John Schuerholz said the Royals have hired eight full-time employees to process Howser’s mail.
