Local News in Brief : Noise Study of Simi Furniture Plant OKd
Simi Valley City Council has agreed to conduct a noise study in the Smith Road area, where residents have complained that a furniture plant keeps them up at night.
The council on Monday night voted to spend $5,500 to hire an acoustical engineer to monitor noise from the Wambold Furniture plant at 6800 Smith Road. The study is expected to be completed in four weeks.
The action was taken after residents near the furniture plant complained repeatedly of excessive noise from a dust-collection system at the plant, as well as from trucks making night deliveries.
