Work Started on Woodbury University’s Valley Campus
Work has started on the $6.5-million renovation of the new campus of Woodbury University at 7500 Glenoaks Blvd. in the northeastern San Fernando Valley.
The move to the 22.4-acre site, the former home of Lutheran High School, will take place in September, 1987, according to Woodbury President Wayne Miller.
Woodbury, at 1027 Wilshire Blvd. in downtown Los Angeles, paid $6.75 million for the new campus, which has 12 buildings, parking for 208 cars and space for future development. The university plans to sell its downtown campus.
“While the downtown location has served us well for 102 years, the new site adjacent to Burbank will create a totally new atmosphere, that of a ‘traditional’ campus, where pleasant surroundings, social activities and intramural sports are as much a part of the Woodbury scene as our academic programs,” Miller said.
