A court hearing in Wausau, Wis., for Green Bay Packer defensive back Mossy Cade on a charge of second-degree sexual assault must be open to the public, the Wisconsin Court of Appeals has ordered.
In an eight-page order, the District 3 appellate court rejected Cade’s argument that his right to a fair trial was in direct conflict with the right of the public to a hearing in open court.
Cade is accused of sexually assaulting a 43-year-old Houston woman at his De Pere, Wis., home early on the morning of Nov. 4, 1985, after the Packers had played the Chicago Bears in Green Bay Nov. 3.
