Nobel Laureate Lech Walesa said today that he was questioned a 12th time by police about his connections to the outlawed Solidarity labor union but refused to answer questions.

He said police questioned him about his influence on Solidarity’s underground Temporary Coordinating Committee, and on its leader, Zbigniew Bujak, who was arrested May 31.

Walesa has pledged to mark Sunday’s sixth anniversary of the strike at the Lenin Shipyard in Gdansk that led to the founding of Solidarity. He will lay flowers at a monument built in front of the shipyard in 1980 to honor more than 50 people killed by police during a 1970 revolt against food price increases.
