24 Tennessee Counties Added to Disaster List

WASHINGTON — Agriculture Secretary Richard E. Lyng has designated 24 more Tennessee counties as disaster areas as a result of severe drought in the South, the Agriculture Department said Friday.
Officials said such declarations have been made for 495 counties in Tennessee and 121 contiguous counties in 11 states--North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
