Florida State Defeats Toledo, 24-0

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Dayne Williams and David Palmer scored second-quarter touchdowns on runs of 36 and 7 yards, respectively, highlighting a 529-yard attack that powered No. 11 Florida State to a 24-0 victory over Toledo Saturday.
The Seminoles, tuning up for next weekend’s showdown with No. 8 Nebraska, shook off a sloppy start to post their 10th straight season-opening win for Coach Bobby Bowden.
Toledo was unable to take advantage of six Florida State turnovers, including fumbles on the Seminoles’ first three possessions.
