Chicago’s WBBM-TV reported that William (The Refrigerator) Perry of the Chicago Bears has been fined $2,000 for a violent tackle of St. Louis Cardinals quarterback Neil Lomax in last week’s National Football League exhibition game.
Perry, a defensive lineman weighing about 320 pounds, picked up Lomax and slammed him to the ground during the first half of the Cardinals’ 14-7 victory at Soldier Field. Perry was not penalized.
