PREP FOOTBALL : San Clemente Narrowly Beats Corona del Mar
San Clemente High School used a 53-yard scoring drive in the fourth quarter to pull out a 7-3 victory over visiting Corona del Mar.
Senior quarterback Andy Greek connected with senior wide receiver Tim Henze on an 11-yard touchdown pass with just 5:13 left in the game. The Tritons used just nine plays on the drive.
Greek and Henze also connected on a 20-yard pass play.
Corona del Mar had led since the second quarter. The Sea Kings scored with 8:39 left in the first half on a 21-yard field goal by senior Brian Vaughan. The San Clemente defense forced the field goal by stopping the Sea Kings on a third and goal from the seven.
