Bahrain to Impose New Visa Requirements

MANAMA, Bahrain — The government of Bahrain will introduce a seven-day visa next month for visiting businessmen, conference delegates and tourist groups, immigration officials said Saturday.
New regulations decreed by Interior Minister Sheik Mohammed ibn Khalifa al Khalifa stipulate that immigration officers may issue either a 72-hour visa, as now, or a seven-day visa to foreigners who hold return tickets.
Bahrain’s Gulf Daily News said the new system would be “a massive shot in the arm for island commerce.
