La Habra : Study Asked on Sale of Part of La Ponita Park
- Share via
The City Council has asked its staff to evaluate the possible sale of five acres of 25-acre La Ponita Park on Whittier Boulevard for development.
Roy Ramsland, assistant planner, said tax revenue from the development would be used to improve several mini-parks along La Habra Boulevard.
In other action, the council asked its staff to draft an ordinance that would ban parking on residential front lawns. Public hearings before the Planning Commission and the council will be scheduled later.
Also, the council, which has received complaints about leaf blowers, refused to regulate their use. Ramsland said the council concluded that leaf blowers made no more noise than other household gardening tools, such as lawn mowers.
