Because ballerina Suzanne Farrell is suffering from what a company spokeswoman called “a recurring hip injury,” two changes in the repertory of New York City Ballet, scheduled to open a five-day engagement in Segerstrom Hall at the new Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa tonight, have been announced.
On the program tonight, “Tzigane” will not be performed; it will be replaced by “Eight More” (Martins/Stravinsky), to be danced by Peter Boal, Michael Byars and Gen Horiuchi.
On the program for the performances Thursday night and Saturday matinee, “Divertimento No. 15” will replace “Mozartiana,” and will be danced by Stacy Caddell, Judith Fugate, Darci Kistler, Kyra Nichols, Melinda Roy, Ib Andersen, Peter Frame and David Otto at both performances.
On the same program, Otto Neubert will replace Cornel Crabtree in “In the Night.” Information: (714) 556-2787.
