An unarmed man robbed a bank Tuesday in Manhattan, then tossed fistfuls of stolen cash into the air to distract passers-by from helping two bank employees chase him down 86th Street through noon-hour crowds, police said.

A construction worker and a neighborhood resident eventually captured the man, Reginald Douglas, 27, of Manhattan, who was later identified as a suspect in 19 other bank robberies.
