Alhambra : Hearing on Story Park Set

The improvement of Story Park is scheduled to be discussed at a hearing of the Parks and Recreation Commission at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6 at the park’s Joslyn Adult Center.
The 6.4-acre park, which is the city’s second oldest, is showing signs of “age and use,” park officials said.
The park includes an adult center, a playground, swimming pool, tennis courts and a baseball diamond.
“The city feels strongly that the citizens should have a direct voice in recommending which improvements are made to their parks,” said Commission President Mark Paulson, urging residents to attend the hearing.
“We want Alhambra’s parks to reflect the recreational needs of those they serve, but we don’t know what the public wants unless they tell us,” Paulson said.
Three city parks, Alhambra Park, Almansor Park and Granada Park, already have undergone improvements, park officials said.
