San Francisco 49er Randy Cross has been placed on three years probation after pleading guilty to drunk driving. Cross played at Crespi High, Valley College and UCLA before being drafted into the NFL.

The All-Pro offensive guard was arrested shortly after midnight Oct. 3 in Belmont, Calif., after taking three sobriety tests. Police said Cross, 32, was driving his BMW at about 45 m.p.h. in a 25 m.p.h. zone and that his blood-alcohol level was 0.19, almost twice the legal limit.

San Mateo County Municipal Court Judge Margaret Kemp also ordered Cross to attend an alcohol treatment program and pay a $681 fine. He was also told to drive only to and from work for 90 days.

Cross, who had been scheduled to appear in court this week, arranged for an earlier court date and was sentenced on Oct. 17.
