PREP FOOTBALL : Garden Grove League : Bolsa Grande Stops Late Drive and Holds On, 14-13

Bolsa Grande High School recovered a Rancho Alamitos fumble on its own 30-yard line with a minute remaining Thursday night to stop a Vaquero drive and preserve a 14-13 Garden Grove League victory at Bolsa Grande High.

The win improves Bolsa Grande’s record to 4-0 in league and 8-1 overall. Rancho Alamitos drops to 0-4 and 0-8-1.

Rancho Alamitos took a 7-0 lead in the second period when Nino Tanabe intercepted a pass and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown, followed by Steve Jenkins’ extra point. But Bolsa Grande came back to tie the game before halftime on quarterback Damon Fisher’s two-yard touchdown run.
