Communist Party leaders in the East Bloc trade group called Comecon have agreed on cooperation to make their economies more dynamic and to raise living standards, the official Soviet news agency Tass reported. It said Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev and leaders of nine allied countries ended two days of talks in Moscow with unanimity on all topics. However, Tass also referred to frankness during the talks, an indication of some disagreement. Moscow reportedly wanted an improvement in the quality of goods received from Eastern Europe in exchange for oil, gas and nuclear technology.
