CLAP TRAP
I don’t find myself agreeing with Martin Bernheimer very often, but he has my full concurrence this time (“To Clap or Not to Clap: A Touchy Question,” Nov. 9).
Bravo, Mr. Bernheimer, and don’t despair too hard. The Orange County Performing Arts Center represents our county elite’s newest toy and, like most toys, it will sooner or later find itself rather ignominiously discarded.
When that happens, the real cultural contingent in the county will be able to attend performances at Segerstrom Hall, and applause will once again be heard in all the right places.

The clapping controversy will be continued next week.
