Fullerton Faces UCLA in NCAA Soccer Tournament
The Cal State Fullerton soccer team, co-champion of the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn., travels to UCLA today to face the second-ranked Bruins in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament at 1 p.m.
The Titans (8-10-2) tied Fresno State for the title but earned the conference’s automatic berth into the tournament because they beat the Bulldogs. UCLA, the defending national champion, beat Fullerton, 6-0, on Nov. 5.
UCLA is 15-0-5 with a 38-game unbeaten streak, longest in the nation.
The Titans, under Coach Al Mistri, have an excellent goalie in Bobbie Ammann, who has played every minute this season, making 132 saves, allowing 32 goals and recording 6 shutouts.
