Dainnese Gault, wife of Chicago Bears receiver Willie Gault, says she regrets calling quarterback Jim McMahon a fool in a Sports Illustrated article.

McMahon is “not a bad person. I just can’t figure him out,” she said. Mrs. Gault was quoted in the magazine as saying that McMahon’s wife, Nancy, is “really sweet. I don’t know how she puts up with that fool.”

She told the Chicago Sun-Times: “I should have used a better word.”
