Loyola Intrasquad Basketball Game Includes Transfers
Loyola Marymount’s basketball team will play an intrasquad game today at 1 p.m. at Albert Gersten Pavilion in its last tuneup before the regular season starts next Friday.
Corey Gaines, who transferred from UCLA, and Bo Kimble and Hank Gathers, who transferred from USC, will make their only appearance of the season for Loyola. Transfers are required to sit out a season, but they are allowed to practice with the team and play in intrasquad games.
Senior center Darryl Carter will also play. In Loyola’s 95-70 exhibition win over the Hungarian National Team Nov. 14, Carter, playing in place of injured starter Vic Lazzaretti, had 24 points and 10 rebounds.
