The New York Rangers rallied from an early two-goal deficit on scores by Pierre Larouche and Walt Poddubny to salvage a 2-2 tie with the Pittsburgh Penguins in a National Hockey League game Sunday night.

It was the second tie in two nights between the teams. They fought to a 5-5 tie Saturday night in Pittsburgh in the Ranger coaching debut of Tom Webster.

For the Rangers, it was their league-leading 13th overtime game this season. They are 2-5-6 in that stretch. The loss continued a four-game winless streak for the Penguins (0-2-2).

The Rangers missed a chance to win in overtime when Tomas Sandstrom blew a breakaway in the final minute, his shot bouncing off the shoulder of Pittsburgh goaltender Gilles Meloche.
