The State : Child Turns In Narcotics

A Redding man was arrested on a narcotics count after his live-in girlfriend’s son handed his elementary school principal a bag of narcotics, police said. The boy “said he didn’t want his mother’s boyfriend in the house anymore, so he turned him in,” said Officer John Derra of the Shasta Interagency Narcotics Task Force. Leonard Nayler, 34, was arrested last week after a search of his home, police said. Derra said officers found three packages of a white powdered substance that preliminary tests indicated to be amphetamine. Derra said Nayler’s activities had been under investigation for several months, adding that after the boy made the allegation, authorities had enough evidence to obtain a search warrant for the home.
