The USC Fans Took It Out on the Players

Well, the Trojan fans showed their true color--yellow. As a Bruin alum who always roots for USC in its yearly battle with Notre Dame, I was appalled at the booing of USC’s graduating senior players by their “fans” after the game.

What rotten sports to take out their frustrations on players who had suffered a heartbreaking, last-minute defeat after playing their guts out all afternoon. I expected USC fans to save their venom for their coach who, after all, had to coach without all the rule-violating “goodies” available to his predecessor. The fact that John Robinson’s misdeeds cost USC several years of NCAA penalties which Tollner had to overcome, while Big John split for Disneyland, seems to escape the Trojan cheering section.

No class, Troy!
