Prep Soccer : Sosa Leads Kennedy Over Western
Fernando Sosa scored two goals in the second half to lead Kennedy High School to a 5-3 nonleague boys’ soccer victory over Western at Kennedy Friday afternoon.
Eddie Corrales, Mark Piening and Kin Paraguary scored one goal each for Kennedy (3-0), which has scored 16 goals this season.
In other nonleague boys’ soccer:
Marina 0, Esperanza 0--The Aztecs, the top-ranked team in the Southern Section 3-A, and the Vikings, the No. 10 team in the 4-A division, tied.
El Modena 4, Katella 1--Kelly McLaughton scored twice and Jessie Cervantes and Mike McConnel added one goal each for the Vanguards (3-0) at Katella. Tim Brown scored for the Knights (1-2).
In nonleague girls’ soccer:
La Qunita 1, Fountain Valley 0--Kristin Harkins scored in the first half for the Aztecs (3-0). The Barons are 1-1-1.
