‘GREEN GABLES’ WINS TV AWARDS
“Anne of Green Gables,” a television miniseries based on the novel by Lucy Montgomery, walked away with the most honors at Canada’s annual television awards, called the Gemini Awards.
The four-hour production, which was broadcast in the United States on PBS’ “Wonderworks” series, won for best dramatic miniseries, best actress in a dramatic special (Megan Follows), best supporting actor (Richard Farnsworth) and best supporting actress (Colleen Dewhurst).
It also picked up five writing and technical awards.
A sequel to “Anne of Green Gables” is currently in the works for future broadcast in Canada and the United States, with Follows and Dewhurst reprising their roles.
