American Telephone & Telegraph and Boeing Computer Services, a unit of Boeing Co., said Tuesday that they will team up to bid on a $4.5-billion, 10-year contract to provide the federal government with telecommunications services.

In September, Martin Marietta Corp. of Bethesda, Md., said it had agreed with MCI Communications of Washington to submit a joint bid on the contract, which is scheduled to be signed late next year.
