Owner Robert Irsay of the Indianapolis Colts said a contract dispute between the Colts and former coach Rod Dowhower ultimately will be decided by NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle.
Irsay has said repeatedly that Dowhower, who was fired Dec. 1, breached his contract and therefore the Colts are under no obligation to fulfill a guaranteed third year on that agreement.
Irsay claims that Dowhower violated his contract because he did not call the owner each Monday and Friday during the season.
