General Automation Inc., an Anaheim microcomputer maker which recently reported its first annual profit in five years, said it has agreed to buy a Santa Cruz-based computer manufacturer for an undisclosed amount of stocks and warrants.

Company officials will announce the acquisition price of the privately-held Santa Cruz firm, Parallel Computers Inc., when the deal is finalized within the next week, a General Automation spokesman said.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Automation, some of Parallel’s manufacturing duties will be transferred from Santa Cruz to Anaheim.
