Two Kenyan businessmen have been sentenced to four years in prison for belonging to a banned left-wing group, Mwakenya, Nairobi newspapers reported. Their convictions brought to 48 the number of people jailed or fined for links with Mwakenya since the shadowy organization came to public attention in April. Kenyan President Daniel Arap Moi has accused the banned group of plotting to overthrow his conservative government, but the movement’s size and the identity of its leaders remain unknown.
