Historical Society Gets Grant Offer
WHITTIER — A local foundation has offered the Whittier Historical Society a challenge grant of $5,000 to help raise funds for its Centennial Capital Campaign. To receive the money, the society must raise an additional $5,000 from the community. The match can only be applied to monies received after Dec. 7.
The capital campaign fund currently stands at $86,000, according to Sue Settlage, society president. If the match is successful, the additional $10,000 would nearly complete the campaign goal of $100,000 needed for improvements at the Whittier Museum.
