Placentia : City Would OK Churches in Industrial Districts

At the request of various small churches, the council gave initial approval Tuesday to amending the city’s municipal code to allow places of worship in the industrial district, said Joyce Rosenthal, the city’s development services director.
The Anaheim City Council adopted a similar law last August, allowing churches in the Canyon Industrial Area, which is home to Rockwell International Corp., Hughes Aircraft Co. and other companies.
Churches, often new ones, have been seeking such unconventional spots for their congregations, church officials say, mainly because the rent is lower.
